Hotel Can Parramatta Simplicity At Its Best

Can Parramatta is an oasis of peace and quiet, where Mother Nature’s soundtrack plays gently in the background. You’ll hear not only bird song, birds of prey being the theme from which the hotel takes its inspiration, but all the sounds of nature – birds, cicadas, and palm leaves rustling in a deliciously soft breeze. It’s location in Santa Eularia makes Can Parramatta a gateway to the north whilst still being in easy reach of Ibiza Town and the delights of the south.

This family run rural boutique hotel was initiated in 2001 by daughter Adriana, who told her father about a rural hotel project for her and her brother Sergio. Sergio is a lover of birds of prey so they named all of the seven individually decorated rooms after a particular bird. Can Parramatta is very much the Ibicenco farmhouse, although not a particularly ancient one. Built in 1920 when the rest of the world was doing the Charleston, it’s a characterful place full of simple charms. All on one level with white painted walls, the interiors have wooden furniture with wrought iron touches and classic Balearic colour schemes – yellows, blues, and some more earthy neutral rooms, all with a relaxed, comfortable home from home feeling.

There is one double, four suites and one superior suite at Can Parramatta, with whirlpool baths for extra rest and relaxation. The Cernicalo (Kestrel) has pure white décor with sagey neutral accents, while the Gavilan (Sparrow hawk) is colour-washed in a gorgeous yellow with terracotta hints, with a white and blue tiled bathroom, splashed with yellow and blue painted pottery and accessories. You can’t fail to feel bright in such a warm and homely environment. The Halcon Peregrinus suite (Peregrine Falcon) is simply huge, with an enormous bed and separate Bali style lounge, while the Eleonora, named after the Eleonora falcon, is painted green with partially exposed dry stone walls. Prices go from €130 to €225 for the double and €185 to €315 for the superior suite, with colour schemes for everyone.

Soak up the simplicity and serenity; slow down and appreciate the good things in life that are free. Blue skies and beautiful gardens; the feeling of diving into a cool blue pool on a deliciously hot day. Smell the lavender and let your soul be soothed, surrounded by orange and lemon groves, almond and olive trees. The perfectly maintained gardens have gazebos and quiet spots to breathe in the scents of nature, where you can indulge in relaxing treatments in a natural setting to really ease the strains away.
