Wednesday, April 3rd 2019, will see one of the island’s most colourful and authentic experiences welcome back visitors when the Hippy Market Punta Arabi Ibiza reopens its doors. Originating in 1973, when a handful of hippies was invited to sell their art, crafts and fashion in the grounds of the famous resort, now the venue houses over 500 stalls offering everything from jewellery, home decorations, delicatessen, vintage clothes to paintings. Shoppers are welcome from 10am until 6pm when the iconic destination gets its 46th season underway.

Once you have shopped up a storm, you can satiate hunger pangs with a taste of the Hippy Market’s very own paella, which will be served from 1.30pm to 3.30pm on the Grill Restaurant’s terrace. Other Spanish treats, such as tortillas and ‘bocadillo’ sandwiches also await to be washed down with local beers, healthy smoothies or zesty Mojito cocktails. Live music is another big part of the experience, and for the 2019 opening Island Thrills will be taking over the stage to invite you to lose yourself in their infectious sound. Meet the original hippies from the early years and the new generation of young craftsmen, and snap up some gorgeous souvenirs to remind you of your visit to Ibiza. For those who can’t make it tomorrow, the market will return every Wednesday throughout the 2019 season.
