Offering a mischievous ‘home away from home’ and open-minded space to party, Pikes has long been a haven for the bold, fashionable and eccentric. Welcoming all and celebrating self expression, the boutique hotel in the hills of San Antonio makes for the perfect space to host Guy William’s event series Flash, a new monthly party that champions gay and mixed culture.

Under the motto Break Down The Walls, the opening party will see some original and iconic DJs step into the famous booth in collaboration with Manchester party starters Homoelectric. Billed for Thursday, June 21st, are Luke Unabomber, Will Tramp, Guy Williams and house music hero Vanilla Ace as a special guest.

Guy told us, “Pikes has felt like a second home to me since the 90’s, so to be working with the amazing team there in this new project makes me very happy. We are creating a safe space for all the misfits to come together, gay, straight, don’t-knows, don’t care! We are all welcome here. As world leaders are building walls we are breaking them down to enable inclusion and acceptance. Welcome to the house without walls.” Meanwhile, underground party rebels Homoelectric, say, “It’s a haven for the misfit tribes, the strays and dark horses […] People need that sense of love and belonging, from a non-mainstream family.”

The fun will begin from 20.00 with poolside cocktails in the golden haze of sunset hour, while foodies have the option to fuel up for the night in Room 39, the delicious onsite restaurant headed up by chef Lee Milne. Party goers should also ensure to make a visit to the Pikes Curiosity Shop, the cool new cocktail bar and collectables display space where each potent drink on the menu represents a piece of the quirky knick-knacks on sale. And for an extra boost, Flash has teamed up with Vitamin Injections London, a pop-pp clinic to give your body exactly what it needs for the night ahead on Thursday, 21st June, or the morning after on Friday, 22nd June.
