Tickets to Tomorrowland, one of the world’s largest electronic music festivals celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, typically sell out in seconds. But for the third year in a row, you can experience the magic of the festival right here in Ibiza, every Tuesday throughout summer until the24 September. Featuring headliners Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike alongside many of their DJ friends and Tomorrowland regulars, Tomorrowland’s Garden of Madness residency brings this world-renowned celebration of freedom, unity, and human connection to the one and only Ushuaïa Ibiza.

As we entered the sold-out opening on June 18th, we noticed happy Ushuaïa Ibiza Beach Hotel guests toasting the occasion from the party palace’s plush balconies, while an excited and steady stream of dance music lovers made their way into the arena below, signaling the tone of the evening: party time! And this is indeed a fierce fiesta, combining chart-topping EDM hits with jaw-dropping superclub production party tricks like C02 cannons, confetti explosions, glow sticks, and eye-popping decorations in Ibiza’s largest open-air venue.

Following sets by Ibiza’s own José María Ramón and Dutch duo Afro Bros, the glamorous MATTN took the stage to transition the event from its beachy daytime vibe to full-on dance party, with songs ranging from White Isle favorites like “You’ve Got the Love” to 2019’s mesmerizing “Children.” (She also snuck an adorable kiss from her husband, Dimitri Vegas.) Around half-past eight, Belgium’s Lost Frequencies (Felix Da Laet) raised the intensity with his infectious energy and a set that included his breakout hit “Are You With Me,” as well as his soulful new single with Aloe Blacc, “Truth Never Lies.” Throughout his set, the party remained wonderfully relaxed, as a crowd diverse in ages, styles, and musical tastes grooved and jumped into the sunset.

The headliners took the stage after nine, kicking off with their buzzy new song “Best Friend’s Ass” featuring Paris Hilton before moving into a diverse set that ranged from Eminem’s “The Real Slim Shady” (which made the crowd go crazy) to the opening chords of The Lion King. And as the Disney film begins with newborn Simba being presented to the lion pride, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, joined by a few dazzling dancers, held up bottles of sparkling wine – then shook them up and sprayed the partygoers closest to the stage! From here, the party shifted into pure, sweaty revelry; the perfect event to celebrate a birthday, an Ibiza hen or stag party – or simply a Tuesday on holiday in Ibiza!

Speaking of the stage, the visuals will wow even seasoned clubbers. An enormous bird covers the equally enormous stage – and no matter where you move in the crowd, its eyes follow you. At key points during the show, the stage bursts into flame – and you can feel the heat from the dancefloor. But while the production is slick, the party still has a friendly and even intimate vibe in keeping with Tomorrowland’s commitment to real-time, personal connection. The 15-show residency runs every Tuesday until the 24 of September (except September 17th), with all of the opening night DJs set to return along further turntable talent such as Afrojack, Jonas Blue, Nicky Romero, Olivier Heldens, Paris Hilton, and many more!
