The clubbing institution that is Cream has been enjoying a sensational summer laying on a stellar spread of dance music’s finest. After 22 years of serving up musical paradise to its loyal following on-island, the brand saw a first this year by taking its concept to a new home – the futuristic mecca of Hï Ibiza. With the superclub in a league of its own thanks to stadium-standard soundsystems and visionary levels of production, we could only think of nobility such as that of Cream to take up partnership. Reaching its 14th and final show, we went for one final knees-up to celebrate an unforgettable summer of two dance heavyweights joining forces.

A pretty tasty line-up was set to close things off nicely. Robin Schulz, Kungs, Jax Jones, B Jones and Anthony Probyn were set to take over the Theatre room while – if that wasn’t enough – Jonas Blue was leading his ‘Electric Nature’ concept in the Club with CID and Paul Reynolds in tow. A neat mix of heavy-weight EDM acts in tandem with Ibiza veterans, B Jones and Paul Reynolds, proves that Cream is still working their brilliance when it comes to curating perfectly balanced line-ups; a little bit of everything to keep the night spicy.

Arriving at the slick halls of Hï Ibiza, Jax Jones was on in the Theatre absolutely blasting things off by slamming all of the hottest tunes of the summer. Mixing Tiga’s ‘Let’s Go Dancing’ with Black Eyes Peas’ ‘My Humps’, a medley of popping anthems had everyone in infectious spirits, dancing like there was no tomorrow. Taking our spots in the middle of the pulsating dancefloor, the light show was wasting no time, either, in spluttering visuals above, below and in every direction possible. French producer Kungs’ following set was equally showstopping as his drop of Fatboy Slim’s ‘Right Here Right Now’ – perfectly timed to the CO2 cannons going off and the light panels above us almost touching our heads – blew all of our senses.

Things in the Club room were equally as unrelenting as performances by Jonas Blue and CID collectively strummed up dance-laden hardcore action. With a sweet touch laid on through sugar-coated vocals over rolling beats, the room felt like a big-room festival. In each room the vibes were high and so intense the music just begged our undivided energy, and the DJs too as they shot out some nifty shapes and a whole lot of bounce.

Leaving Anthony Probyn, and a still throbbing dancefloor, to shut down The theatre into the early hours, a breath-taking season that saw a Steve Angello takeover amongst the likes of Diplo, Hardwell and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, 2018 will be fondly remembered as the year Cream set Hï Ibiza a new record! Bravo, indeed.
