It’s been another busy summer for the Cotton Group, which, in 2017, not only continued to dazzle with the outstanding hospitality and culinary offering that have made the brand famous, but also updated and expanded its portfolio. While the flagship venue in Cala Tarida wowed the international jet set and island residents with its success formula of breath-taking surroundings, mouth-watering food and creative concepts such as the popular champagne brunch, sister venue Cotton Lounge Club in Figueretas upped its gastronomic game with the integration of craft cocktail lounge Bar Baboon within its glamorous walls and a complete menu overhaul undertaken by star chef Alex Arquero.

As if that wasn’t enough, 2017 also saw the opening of Cotton Fitness Club in San Antonio’s Calo des Moro, continuing the company’s trend to choose unexpected locations for their luxury outlets and put them on the proverbial map. The stylish wellness venue invited guests to enjoy a workout overlooking the sparkling Mediterranean Sea, refuel on delicious and nutritious food or simply relax by the pool with a raw juice or refreshing cocktail. And to celebrate another successful summer on the White Isle, this weekend saw owners Christian and Merete Marstrander invite family, friends and fans of the concept for one last fiesta.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a Cotton celebration if proceedings didn’t go down in fabulous fashion, and so we arrived early to make the most of the day to night festivities. Dazzled by the gleaming white interiors and those unforgettable views over the crystal clear blue sea, while elsewhere the island was struggling with rain and grey clouds, the sun was beaming down on the beautiful venue – as if the team had ordered the sunshine! Many guests had had the same idea as us, and booked a table for lunch, a last chance to enjoy the mouth-watering food.

Tucking into fresh sushi and soft lamb shoulder served on a sweet potato puree, washed down with crisp glasses of rose, the afternoon flew by. Cotton Beach Club resident Dalibor Dadoff opened the celebrations with a set of deep and laid-back but infectious house beats, which were accompanied by a live saxophone to add to the luxurious Balearic vibe. He was followed by Aday Chinea, who helped us to groove into the golden glow of sunset with his expertly mixed tracks.

More and more revellers started to trickle in, and before we knew it, the party was well underway. Securing a last musical treat for the Cotton Beach Club crowd, Christian and Merete had booked Melon Bomb co-founders and island-favourite DJs Paul Reynolds and Scott Gray, as well as Best Ibiza DJ award winner Mr Doris, who has also been known to join the team behind what has arguably been Ibiza’s hottest party this summer.

With the lunch tables cleared away, it didn’t take long for the dance floor to fill up and soon we were all busting our best moves to irresistible house tracks as Paul Reynolds and Scott Gray played B2B. Overlooking the stunning bay of Cala Tarida from up high, with the delicious drinks flowing and the stylish crowd dancing their hearts out, Cotton Beach Club ended the 2017 season in style, leaving us, as always, wanting more. But luckily, with venue reopening for winter service on December 2nd, we don’t have to wait too long!
