With an abundance of choice eateries and lively bars in San Antonio, there are not many that offer a unique and fabulous dining experience against a backdrop of spectacular show-stopping sunset views. Fresh Ibiza Gourmet Burger and Cocktail restaurant on Sunset Strip consistently offer delicious culinary fare, impeccable service in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that sets itself aside from many others. Brought to you by the famous Mambo Ibiza Group it is no surprise that Fresh Ibiza is the choice hotspot to eat, drink, relax and repeat before hitting the town!

From the moment we arrived at Fresh Ibiza smiles welcomed us all around, the staff is warm, friendly and adorable. As you walk down the lively Sunset Strip, you can’t miss the unmistakable and vibrant restaurant frontage with the words FRESH in huge lettering. Following a winter facelift, Fresh Ibiza presents a few stylish additions this season. With an inviting chill-out area at the front of the restaurant boasting big, comfy, white sofas, low slung tables, and brightly coloured cushions, catching the sunset can be a very laid back affair. The restaurant area has also seen a transformation this season with three sections all designed for dining and cocktails. Depending on your mood, choose from the high cafe tables and stools, perfect for groups and gatherings or kick back and chill in the outdoor lounge area. For a sit-down dining experience choose to relax in the central restaurant space with chic black tables decorated with cute mini filled cactus plant pots and vintage retro pastel coloured seating. With a fashionable white nautical rope balcony separating the restaurant from the beach below, you are in the perfect spot to catch the incredible views of the famous Balearic sunset that so many gather to see.

We were shown to our table by Louise, manager at Fresh Ibiza and during our brief chat we learn that she is not only blessed with charm and an infectious bubbly personality, she is also clearly very passionate about her job. Her team, who weave their way professionally around the tables, are dressed in cute denim dungaree short suits and nautical style tops, they are delightfully attentive and entertaining at all times, there is an obvious sense of family and team spirit here. We toasted the start of the evening with a crisp glass of champagne, each decorated with fresh strawberries. No sooner had we drained our glasses and we were presented with four of the most attractive looking Instagram-worthy cocktails I had ever posted. First up was the vibrant Watermelon & Kiwi Mojito alongside the fruity Mango version served in trendy retro jam jars and worthy of an award for presentation and taste to boot. Our conversation turned to how we could relieve ourselves from after dinner driving duties, we sensibly agreed that total abandonment of discussed vehicles was the only option and proceeded to sip on a Strawberry Daiquiri and a Porn Star Martini, laced with a generous measures of Grey Goose vodka, all I can say is WOW! (and thank goodness we had abandoned the cars) If the cocktails had set such a president then we could only imagine what culinary treats were next!

Our starters arrived and we were not to be disappointed, we indulged In the Teriyaki Chicken Fingers, delicious marinated teriyaki chicken lightly tossed in breadcrumbs and served with a homemade BBQ and a sweet soy sauce. The Nachos were sensational, with a generous topping of melted cheddar cheese, jalapeños, chunky tomato, red onion salsa and fresh guacamole. We loved the homemade Aubergine Hummus, served with crispy tortillas and cooked in a Josper (an elegant combination of a charcoal grill and an oven) resulting in a truly delicious combination to kick start the feast. Louise tells me that Fresh Ibiza is now in its third season and how this year, as well as the delicious burger and cocktail menu, they have now introduced several fresh fish choices that have gone down a storm early season. With this in mind, we were keen to try these tempting new additions, and we are delighted that we did. All I can say is try the new seasonal Lobster Burger, it’s an absolute winner, with tender pieces of freshly grilled lobster encased in a soft bread bun with a rib of beef burger tomato, Iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, and a delicious homemade garlic butter. Following this, we feasted on the Thai Chicken Curry with a generous intermingling of crispy vegetables and fluffy white rice, a real Asiatic treat.

The Fresh Argentinian Steak was simply divine; the meat is slowly cooked in order to deliver a melt-in-the-mouth pulled texture. A further winner and addition to Fresh Ibiza’s menu is the fresh grilled half lobster, which is cooked in the Josper for that unique BBQ flavor, served with hand cut chips and homemade coleslaw and certainly deserving of a special mention. It was a moment that saw us happily slump back in our seats, with a satisfied look on our faces. As a food coma started to kick in we embraced the moment as the sun melted into the glittering ocean in front of the restaurant, the whole sky alight with orange and blue, the crowds around us breaking out into rapturous applause as we toasted another magical day on Ibiza. As the evening continued and the stars danced in the dark sky above the restaurant by now was aglow with the flicker of the elegant heaters keeping diners warm. We brought the curtain down on a fantastic experience with a selection of sweet treats that included an authentic Knickerbocker Glory and a violet and caramel Ice Cream Sunday, we were certainly in no hurry to go anywhere. The Fresh Ibiza experience exceeded all expectations, the atmosphere was welcoming and happy, and if you are searching for an evening of refreshing cocktails, an unbeatable dinner, amazing service and a view to die for, look no further!
