The nights may be getting bitterly cold, yet the days are still spoiling us with plenty of heat and sun-soaked skies. As closing season draws to an end, now would be the perfect time to take in the last of the daytime offerings. And, relishing in mouth-watering cuisine underneath the glorious autumn sunshine is an idea we can condone! Authentically Ibiza, one slice of paradisiacal heaven that will go into hibernation over winter is Es Savina. A place where time feels non-existent and the food comes as fresh as the ocean breeze beside it, you have until Sunday, October 28th to see why this seaside oasis is – perhaps – the island’s best kept secret.

Positioned on the world-famous Cala Jondal, which is best known for its bustling beach club scene, there’s no competition for Es Savina on this stretch of sand. Mostly known through word-of-mouth, the restaurant has established its own tranquil pocket of space in the centre of gently curved bay and surrounded by the enveloping mountains, offering a sensationally unique experience. For 28 years the family-run hotspot has been drawing guests to its serene location with a menu delighting in traditional island fare focused on high calibre meats and fish. And it just doesn’t get any more picturesque than this; dining underneath juniper trees inside floral gardens, its removed location in tandem with the amiable service makes it supremely difficult to think of anything else but the moment itself.

Whether it’s a table that allows you to bury your feet in the sand, a sunbed on the beach or a spot underneath the low-hanging trees, there’s a corner for every mood. Bask in one final taste of Ibiza with arguably the best Bullet De Peix on the island, a wonderfully fluffy goat’s cheese salad or, like a King would, a sensational seafood platter that will wow all of your taste buds. Lighter offerings can be found at their on-site chiringuito which just happens to whip up the most delectable cocktails, too. Blending the ripest fruits into addictive concoctions, the mango daquiri is always a hit alongside the punchy mojitos – blissfully sipped in the sun looking out at the endless sea views. Unpretentious quality with a taste for true island life, your pit stop as Es Savina awaits but be sure to be quick – the countdown has begun!
