As soon as we heard that glamorous Ibiza Town eatery and bar La Imprenta Grand Café Restaurante was putting on a special immersive dining experience for Halloween, we knew it would be fantastic. With its marble floors, dramatic chandelier and plush velvet curtains, the old world charm of the opulent venue makes the perfect setting to channel the ambience of a haunted mansion, and on October 31st the creative Amar Ibiza team, the minds behind La Imprenta, turned the foodie hotspot into an atmospheric set inspired by US TV show The Originals.

Centered around a powerful group of vampires famous for being the first of their lineage, the restaurant was decked out to look like a spooky – yet incredibly luxurious – mansion filled with glowing candles, blood-red flowers and scary masks adorning the walls. The La Imprenta crew got into the spirit of things by dressing up in their most frightful looks complete with ghoulish face paint and accessories. Known to attract a stylish crowd of clientele, the diners who had booked themselves in for a night to remember had made no less of an effort, resulting in some freakish and fabulous costumes.

Head chef Pablo Montoro had created a special Halloween menu for the occasion that featured treats such as pumpkin soup with basil oil as an appetiser, sharing starters including Wagyu matured cecina beef with crispy crust ‘pan de crystal’ bread and crispy octopus on parmentier potatoes, artichokes, asparagus and paprika oil. Main courses included grilled Almadabra tuna ventresca with roasted peppers and onions or low temperature chicken confit with parmesan tile and truffle while a caramelised puff pastry mille-feuille served with custard and fresh fruit or a black chocolate souffle with white chocolate soup and turron ice cream rounded off the selection.

Of course, it wouldn’t have been a night at La Imprenta without the addition of carefully curated wines and potent cocktails, as well as that unique atmosphere, great music and outstanding service. Guests were filling up both dining rooms as well as the outdoor terrace, enjoying a Halloween celebration that fed all senses. The event proved once more how fast this gem in the Amar Ibiza portfolio has established itself as a show-stopping and popular venue for both locals, year-round residents and visitors to the island alike – and the good news is that La Imprenta will stay open in the low season months, too – now that’s some spooktacular good news!
