La Cava essential news

Where Everybody Knows Your Name

Vara de Rey in Ibiza town is arguably one of the islands most travelled streets, the quaint route towards the port is both picturesque and the perfect place to position yourself to get involved in a spot of people watching. This is one of the reasons that we are so fond on La Cava, well, that and the great service, amazing food and reasonable prices, it’s one of our ticks every box venues. It doesn’t matter what time of day you head to La cava, it works all day long.

La Cava

If, like us, you enjoy people watching then there is no better spot. Grab a table on the street, enjoy a coffee and a party and catch a glimpse of the cosmopolitan crowd that gives Ibiza Town that unique atmosphere as it goes about its daily duties. All ages, shapes and sizes, from all over the world, passing by on their way to somewhere, it’s a great spot to sit and wonder what these people are doing or who they are going to meet. Alternatively, if you’re an early riser, La Cava offers a range of breakfast options to set you up for the day. I recently opted for the healthy breakfast and enjoyed fresh fruit, muesli and yoghurt, with freshly squeezed orange juice and a coffee, the perfect start to any day. For those of you less disciplined than I, there is a range of alternatives to tantalize your taste buds.

One thing that strikes me about La cava every time I am in is that there I always a conversation happening, this is a place where people feel comfortable, where meetings are held, where friends catch up on the go and where all types of food is available. Delicious sandwiches on the go or something a little more substantial, which also keeps you in the cool of the air conditioning that bit longer before you head off to face the day. It’s the type of place that you could easily imagine hosting a TV soap opera; such is the busy nature and turn over of people. Next time you’re in Ibiza Town and considering taking a load of for ten minutes and catching your breath, check out La Cava, you won’t be disappointed, and you’ll find yourself looking for excuses to be in that part of town so you can stop in again.

La Cava

There really isn’t a time of day that La Cava is not suited to, after work, as the sun starts to lose its heat and the air is still, there’s no better feeling than a refreshing cocktail and some tapas, which is what this cool little bar/ restaurant is best known for. The tapas are as tasty as they are varied, the perfect end to a hard days work, or if you are a tourist and have been walking around the stunning town looking for a bargain, wash away the retail fatigue with a few plates of traditional tapas and a fruity drink with a kick that will take the edge off.
