The Face at Privilege

Baby Marcelo is an iconic figure in Ibiza, from his earlier days as La Troya before launching The Face Of Ibiza; his charismatic performance has caught the imagination of generations of clubbers. Ibiza Town is buzzing, Thursday is a big night as everyone descends on the centre for a few drinks before the party and to catch a glimpse of the parade, possibly the one parade that still manages to capture the spirit of the original club parade, creating drama and grabbing the attention as they make their way through the narrow streets of Ibiza Town. Baby Marcelo is the brains behind the creative direction of The Face, having studied mime acting and contemporary dance and having appeared in both classical and experimental theatre shows as well as performed as a mime springboard artist in opera and choreographed music videos, it is no wonder that The Face Of Ibiza has a reputation for delivering a spectacular party.

The Face at Privilege

Privilege is packed but no too busy the there is no room to dance or get to the bar, which, in August, is the major complaint from every other club. It helps that this is the world’s biggest club and therefore there is space to put on an amazing show without impacting on the comfort of the clubbers. The room looks spectacular, with cages, podiums and poles; there is a real sense that this is more than just a club night. As the night unfolds that becomes more evident. The music is of the highest order, deep and chunky house, just like we like it, the atmosphere is amazing, it’s almost as if everyone’s inhibitions have been checked at the front door and they are here for whatever the party brings them.

The Face at Privilege

Baby Marcelo is holds court fro the top of his stilts, engaging the audience, providing more than a few risqué moments and creating a level of drama never seen before in a club party. This added to the quality of the DJs is what has made The Face Of Ibiza one of the most popular on the island over the last few years. The dancers look spectacular, the acrobats hang high above our heads on poles and the visuals behind the DJ are stunning. There’s a real sense of the original Ibiza spirit in this party, where people came with no preconceptions and accepted whatever happened during the course of the night. The Face Of Ibiza is a refreshing change, bringing theatre front and centre and giving the clubbers an experience and memory that will live with them long after their holiday has passed.
