After occupying Wednesday nights from June 1 until September 28, the Subliminal Invasion finally came to a conclusion last night. In a hot and sweaty farewell to the white isle Erick Morillo, Harry Choo Choo Romero, Shawnee Taylor and Juan Diaz waved goodbye to Ibiza for another year.

Wednesday nights in Pacha have been a huge success for the New Jersey based label, with every week a road block we knew that the closing party would be much more of the same and we weren’t disappointed. Outside the famous venue there are waves and waves of Subliminal fans waiting to get inside to catch a glimpse of their hero Erick Morillo.

The Invasion has hosted numerous outstanding guests throughout the summer, Chuckie, Basement Jaxx, Jose Nunez, Kaskade, John Dahlback and Sneaky Sound System, to name only a few. Perhaps the appearance of Danny Tenaglia caught the imagination most as the US legend delivered a dark, twisted journey only he can provide, a true Ibiza moment was had by all. Tonight’s entertainers include fellow New Jersey resident Harry Choo Choo Romero and stunning vocalist Shawnee Taylor, fresh from her amazing performance at the Ibiza DJ Awards in Pacha the night before.

The main room is bulging at the seams, the famous floor is packed and everyone is facing the DJ booth, paying homage to their musical heroes. Harry Choo Choo delivers a chunky, bass heavy set that rocks the main room. Shawnee Taylor takes to the dancers podium and proceeds to raise hairs on arms and necks throughout the club; she really does have one of the most powerful voices in clubland. Next up it’s Erick Morillo, gold pioneer headphones wrapped around his ears, DJ booth mobbed, including Junior Jack, the stair at the side of the booth is bottle necked, everyone that can wants to catch a glimpse of the talented label boss in action.

What follows is typical Erick Morillo, high energy, big room house, full of driving basslines, the odd bleep and more than a fair share of vocals, which engages the huge crowd whenever they recognize a tune. The atmosphere is electric and the huge confetti cannons and pyrotechnics help add to it. You know when you are watching Morillo in action because the phones and cameras in front of the booth create a strobe effect continuously. It doesn’t seem like five minutes since we were standing here watching Chuckie on the opening night, Ibiza 2011 has blazed by and Subliminal, as always, has gathered an army of new fans along the way. The Invasion is finally over, at least for this year anyway!
