After kick starting the countdown to the start of the new season by announcing that the Space Opening Fiesta will take place on May 27, the recently voted best Global Club at the 27th annual IDMA’s in Miami and number one club in the world according to DJ Magazine poll, celebrates its latest accolade with a teaser announcement of the talent that can be seen and, more importantly heard at the opening Fiesta. The Space Fiesta has for a long time been regarded as the official opening of the summer season and although there are now parties that open prior to it, there is no doubt that it still retains a certain magic. The car park is transformed into the Flight Arena, a huge outdoor arena that gives that festival feeling and provides some of the biggest name in our scene a platform to announce their intentions for the summer.
Traditionally, the Space opening Fiesta gathers some of the biggest names on the scene and scatters them around numerous rooms of the uniquely designed venue, providing something for everyone whether it be for your taste in music or how you like to sample that music, in a huge crowd under the stars or an intimate room with the lights down low. This year is no different, the list of protagonists for the opening salvo reads like the proverbial who’s who. Carl Cox of course returns to continue his love affair with the venue, now in it’s eleventh year. His affection for Space and the loyal crowd that fills it week in, week out is no secret and his addition to the line up gives that same crowd another opportunity to reciprocate that love.
Belgian double act 2ManyDJs adorn their tux and take centre stage for what promises to be a mash up to remember and the list of heavyweights continues; Dubfire, Sasha, Roger Sanchez, Steve Lawler and Mark Knight will all be making appearances on the night and that is just the tip of the iceberg.
