MTV has announced that international rap artist Snoop Dogg will headline the opening of their I Want My MTV parties in Amnesia, Ibiza summer 2011. The series of exclusive live events kick off on Friday July 1 in Ibiza’s Amnesia club and the hip hop superstar will be on hand to host the opening party. Primal Scream presents Screamadelica has also been confirmed to close the season on Friday September 2. The announcement follows hot on the heels of revealing some of the stars that will be making an appearance for I Want My MTV this summer, a list that includes the likes of Robyn, Duran Duran, 2ManyDJ’s (live), Ritchie Hawtin Presents Plastikman and Mark Ronson & The Business International, all making their live debut performances in Ibiza. The event also boasts a strong DJ line up with Mark Ronson, Marco Carola, Felix Da Housecat, Tiga, Erol Alkan, Magda, M.A.N.D.Y., Riva Starr, James Holden, Audiofly and Alfredo all joining residents Layo & Bushwacka!
