KM5 is a great place to eat, dance and be happy. With a boutique, for all of your style essentials and a gorgeous garden lounge area, not to mention the perfect restaurant, lit up with pinks and greens, cozy up on a Thursday night to the sound of deep balearic beats and because our ‘Up Close Designer’ Daniel Jacob Dali had his debut fashion show and we are always on the fashion beat, I was there to report on the show.

Predominantly womenswear, Daniel has created a strong collection of metallics and print. Created between Manchester, New York and Ibiza, with the fabrics sourced and made in all three places, this is a collection inspired by Daniel’s love of travel. If you haven’t already, have a read of Daniel’s interview in our designers section, to hear all about Daniels wonderful journey.

Six girls in total marching through the KM5 gardens, styled to perfection, Daniel Jacob Dali really is one to watch. With a mix of starfish printed kaftans, metallic tops and peacock feather dresses, Daniel has an eclectic style. With fabulous cut away leggings and floor length electric metalic blue gown… Daniel gives Lady Gaga a run for her money! With sheer white shirts and baby doll bird printed dresses, these chica’s were trotting on trend!

A highlight for me was the black sheer lace one piece, this collection was for me completely considered and oozed beauty and style. Daniel has created a beautiful white bridal style stenciled gown, which is just to die for. His use of decorative techniques really set this collection on fire, we had frills, print and the use of Devore where the fabric is heated and the top layer burnt away to leave a layered effect finish. I also love his printed dungarees – very New Jersey chic!

Daniel also has a good eye for menswear and with his surprise menswear collection showcasing on Thursday, it was clear to see Daniel had been hard at work. A strong look was the black shorts with leather wings and detachable leather collar and cuffs, accessorized with a printed New York shoulder bag. He had the boys marching out in red and silver metallic tops with some great new jersey prints, he is clearly representing his signature style. Daniel is not afraid to take risks and this is clear to see with his choice of fabrics; PVC, jersey and netting with a colour palette of strong metallics, neons, deep oranges and reds, I was in love!
With Hair and Make up by Baransu at the girls looked fabulously fierce, if you want more catch Daniel again at Atzaro in August, I for sure will be there!
