What a treat, to be invited to the Jade Jagger residence on Thursday afternoon to take a peek at her jewels. Ms Jagger has been designing jewellery for twenty years and I felt privileged to be asked to share an afternoon with such a legendary chica. She is a jewellery Queen, previously creative director at Garrard, this lady certainly knows her jewels. Her passion and creative flare is translated through the jewelry, a collection of gold, silver, beads, precious and semi precious stones with skulls popping up everywhere were out on show in her beautiful finca tucked away in the North of the island.
An Indian inspired energy is all around the Jagger residence. Goa is Jade’s second home, spending four to five months there in the winter where she also has her studio, giving her time and space to design her treasures. Trotting across the globe to make her jewellery collection, Jade designs all of the pieces herself, and produces each collection in Jaipur, a creative honey pot for jewellery. A selection of precious and semi precious stones made up of aqua, rubies and chrisophase, beads, skulls and a touch of Bollywood were laid out on tables and in beautiful cabinets. The collection is predominantly gold, with hand picked rubies and emeralds by Jade. The stones are selected first before Jade designs the pieces around them. A favorite for me is a hand carved ruby ring. Her love of India is evident and her jewels reflect her bohemian soul.
Jade creates beautiful necklaces out of Rudra beads, the Rudraksha tree is a large evergreen broad-leaved tree whose seed is traditionally used for prayer beads in Hinduism. These beads feature heavily throughout her collection. The mix of these beads set in a Rosary necklace with Jade’s notorious skulls works in juxtaposition and makes for a great piece with lush silk tassels adorning each one. Jade’s collections go by the names Apollo, Skullduggery, Rudra beads, Jungle Disco, Pope and Mala. With a selection of rings, necklaces and bracelets the collection is an exciting burst of colour, making the stones literally pop, with a selection of white gold diamonds, sapphires and marine. I love the gold leaf necklaces and emerald rings. She has the most perfect chandelier earrings of diamonds set in gold and wonderful gold plated leaf rubies! Ms Jagger also designs for the males, mostly chunky silver pieces, designed with a touch of simplicity but still with much consideration.

Every Friday in August Jade Jagger is hosting a fabulous party at Atzaro beach, Cala Nova. ’1971′ is sure to be the event of August. Starting at 5pm, with a host of international DJ’s. A chilled vibe with a great BBQ. Chicas, trot down to Atzaro beach in your 1970′s sizzling stiletto’s, and party like it was 1971!
