Privilege and Supermartxe hosted a joint closing party in the heart of the Ibiza countryside last night and all the talk running up to the event was about the surprise guest superstar and, given that Lady gaga Producer White Shadow was originally on the line up the rumours were flying. That was until both White Shadow and the surprise guest cancelled. That took absolutely nothing away from the extravaganza however; Privilege and Supermartxe provide a pretty fierce team when it comes to throwing a party.

Supermartxe is more of an interactive music and theatre experience, the huge Privilege stage becomes the focal point for a huge production performance and performers mingle with clubbers, doing their thing while the talent inside the DJ booth delivers the sound track. Tonights musical maestros come in the shape of Ab Garcia, Di Martino, Vitti, Salva Di Nobles, Michael Sanchez and Javi Reina, with a live performance from Nalaya. In the vista club there are a few performers that are not used to being hosted I the smaller venue but such is the quality of the new look space, it promises to go right off. Solomun, John Digweed and M.A.N.D.Y. are among the headliners in the second room.

Supermartxe has a reputation as one of the most glamorous parties on the island and the beautiful crowd that fills the world’s largest club has certainly made an effort. The main room is packed with a stunning crowd, dressed up and ready to party. Half naked girls gyrate on top of giant martini glasses while almost naked dancers can thank some carefully placed tape for keeping their modesty intact. The room looks spectacular; the sheer size of Privilege makes it the perfect venue for a production of this size. The atmosphere is electric and the he crowd is lapping up the cool soundtrack from the giant both. Things are hotting u in the other room but tonight it’s all about the show.

When the curtain eventually draws to reveal the stage set up, it is another spectacular achievement from the guys behind both Supermartxe and Privilege. A huge depiction of the crucifixion is the centre piece of the stage and while explosions and dry ice add more drama to the occasion. Dancers wear all sorts of elaborate costumes which makes you feel you have gone through the wrong door and instead of attending the closing party for one of Ibiza biggest parties, you somehow managed to step into the set of a Hollywood blockbuster! The massive crowd is lapping the whole thing up, arms are raised above heads in celebration and the atmosphere keeps building. The roof may be in danger if this keeps up for the duration of the twelve-hour party. This is not for the feint hearted.

After a stunning appearance at the opening ceremony a few months ago, Nalaya returns to centre stage of the main room and delivers another powerful performance, urging the crowd to get involved, which it duly does. The drama and production that goes into this party normally is astounding, the fact that it is the closing party of the venue has definitely raised the bar somewhat and they are clearing it easily! If they ever get fed up with club life, the team behind this production would have no problem transferring its talents on to famous stages around the world! The crowd roars its appreciation as the production carries on, it goes crazy when the Dj drops some of the seasons anthems and when the pyrotechnics burst into life and confetti and streamers fall from the sky, there is genuine concern for the people living within a 10 mile radius, such is the noise level.

At this point we have to make our excuses and leave, not because we don’t have the stamina for the full twelve hours you understand but if we are in there partying to all hours of the next day, who is bringing you the report? The room is fit to burst as we make our way from stage front to the exit, one thing is for certain, this party will be carrying on for the foreseeable future, as an army of happy clubbers refuse to say goodbye to Privilege and Supermartxe. Roll on Ibiza 2013!
