After dipping its toe in the water last summer, Ibiza Live decided the time was right to take on a summer residency in Ibiza. After spending the winter getting line-up’s confirmed and planning for the season it was finally time to unveil the party and Eden, San Antonio, Tuesday June 5 was the place and time. With pre-parties in Savannah, Clubland Bar, Plastik, Bucaneero’s and Peppers, San Antonio was awash with chat of the brand new night as the whole of the town headed to the famous Ibiza venue to welcome Professor Green, DJ IQ and Ibiza Live.

As the Ibiza Live girls march through San Antonio, resplendent in pink and black, making sure the last minute undecided are fully informed of what they will be missing out on if they fail to choose Eden tonight, the buzz of anticipation for the new party is building. Professor Green is an inspired booking for the opening, with a new album washing across airwaves throughout the UK and beyond he is very much the name on everyone’s lips. The queue outside the venue is testament to all the preparation and hard work that has gone into ensuring that Ibiza Live gets off to a flyer.

Ibiza Live residents – Capital’s Andi Durrant and Scott Page – are on warm up duty before Pro Green takes to the stage and I’m not sure whether it is a combination of the launch of a new party and the Ibiza opening night madness or if this is the atmosphere that can be expected every Tuesday night but the main room is going crazy. The time arrives for the headline act and the focus turns from the DJ booth to the main stage where Professor Green and DJ IQ are ready to kick things up a notch. The huge screen behind the stage provides visual accompaniment to the slick show as the talented academic waxes lyrical holding the huge crowd in the palm of his hand throughout.

On the evidence of this opening party, it’s hard to think that there were any pre-match nerves from the Ibiza Live camp and if the opening party is anything to go by, Ibiza and Ibiza Live will enjoy a love affair throughout the summer of 2012, with other massive names booked such as Dizzee Rascal, Tinie Tempah, Example Wretch 32 and Jessie J booked to appear, they can look forward to one of the finest atmosphere’s that will have witnessed! Ibiza Live is officially open and set to make Tuesday night a night to remember!
