House Bros Hit Blue Marlin

No one at essential towers is questioning Lauren Chester’s ability to go clubbing, given where she has come from it’s no real surprise that she can hold her own with the most ardent of professional clubbers but here at EI HQ we decided maybe it was time she had a nice relaxing day away from the madness of the main room dancefloor and sent her to Blue Marlin for the day to check out a couple of future stars as the House Bros returned to Ibiza…

Another Sunny day on the Island of Balearic bliss and Ibiza’s summer is in full swing. Now that August is here, the clubs are packed and the beaches and streets are constantly bustling with activity. I can think of nothing better than to retreat to the stunning southwest coast of the island to pay a well overdue visit to Blue Marlin, the island’s beach club that’s beyond comparison.

The Blue Marlin, located in the crystal clear bay of Cala Jondal has boasts an impressive menu, has a beautiful location and has witnessed performances from some of the worlds biggest names in the house scene since it opened. I love the scenic drive down to Blue Marlin, with the hills rolling out in front of me and the sea yo my left, I cant help but think how much I’m dreading going back to England after summer is over! When we arrive at Blue Marlin the five star service is immediately evident. A roped off car park for those VIP sports cars is available and there is a hostess on the door to see us to one of the luxury day beds. It’s no surprise that shoulder rubbing with global A-listers such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Queen Latifah is not unheard of.

The menu here is hard to choose from, the Mediterranean fusion dishes with salads and sushi look to die for but I’ve opted for a fruit platter while I get my tan on. I had a poke about in the boutique, which sells some amazing beach dresses and kaftans as well as the sought after Ibiza classic L’dir leather boots and then retreated back to the luxurious double sun lounger before I could indulge my shopping addiction.

It wasn’t long before the music changed up, the supporting act made way for The House Bros and all the leggy blondes and well dressed gents headed straight for the DJ booth – which has seen a few adjustments since last year, with impressive new stage lighting. This is the third year in a row that the Blue Marlin has welcomed the House Bros for a summer residency, and at the tender age of 14 these young boys – DJs Didiss and Max’Air – are giving Justin Bieber a run for his money. The showmanship from the Moroccan based duo, who follow the Swedish House Mafia by example, is as outstanding as ever and sees them mixing music with a cheeky twist and an ability beyond their years keeping the crowd smiling and dancing until the venue closes in the early evening for a lavish private party.

2012 has been a big year for Blue Marlin, the brand is expanding, with a brand new beach club opening in UAE earlier in the year and a second venue in Ibiza, a new restaurant in the Marina at Botafoch. Cala Jondal seems to get busier every season so booking advance is always a must. Make sure you book a bed and get down to the notoriously high-end beach club on a Sunday for a day that rolls on until the early hours and Keep one eye on essential Ibiza for more Blue Marlin news!
