As the last of the island’s super clubs got set to draw the curtains on another busy summer, Healing Ibiza headed back into the countryside, to Atzaro Agrotourismo, to show that the island is about much more than just its clubbing heritage.
Sunday October 7 was the perfect example of the yin and yang of this beautiful island, Space closing party a few miles down the road in Playa d’en Bossa and the tranquil get together in the grounds of the stunning Atzaro hotel in the heart of the island. Healing Ibiza brought the wellness community together for a day of reflection, discussion and inspiration for the mind, body and soul in what promised to be a day of pure vitalisation. Healing Ibiza not only contributes to the spirit of Ibiza but also to many of the projects on the island, who all benefit from the proceeds raised. The notice on the board as we enter proclaims a massive 20,000 euros has been raise so far in Healing Ibiza days, helping charities such as Ibiza Preservation Fund, The Universal Mandala Education Project, Alzheimers Society and Samasound Foundation. What an amazing achievement!
Atzaro and Healing Ibiza is the perfect match, the minute you walk down the hill and into the stunning grounds of the hotel you can’t help but feel the stress of the outside world start to disappear. Putting people already at ease with a selection of professionals whose ability is to do exactly that makes for a productive afternoon. There are plenty of experiences to be had as the unique space that Atzaro occupies accommodates Reiki, Bowen, Yoga, Massage, Crystal and Sound reading, Oracle readings, NLP, Cranio Sacral and Reconnective healing, to name only a few. The islands healers and therapists are out in force to support a wonderful cause and to contribute to an amazing day out. There are workshops dotted around, there are informed speakers providing interesting talks on all sorts of therapeutic subjects and a personal favourite, the chill out spot, which does exactly what it says on the tin.
One of the biggest selling points of the Healing Ibiza day is the children’s area. Numerous families have made the journey into the country in the knowledge that the whole family can have an amazing day out, even if they are all having a completely different experience. The kids area is fantastic, entertainers keep them happy, blowing up balloons and getting the kids involved in activities such as face painting and painting, giving the adults some time to themselves to indulge some of their stress relieving fantasies, whether it be massage or Reiki or even a bit of yoga in front of Atazro’s stunning long pool that runs from the bottom of the steps to the edge of the Balinese Spa. There are stunning performances dotted throughout the day, from live musicians, including an amazing violinist to dancers. Healing Ibiza started in 2010 when a small group of healers and therapists working and living on the island attended a meeting hosted by an eminent Shaman from Peru and came to the collective realisation that they all had to work together as one to encourage the residents and visitors to the island to embrace a healthier living and to guide them to take more responsibility for their own wellbeing. Two years and numerous days like this later, Healing Ibiza is one of the most popular days on the island.
Healing Ibiza is a well-run, fun day out. They have thought of everything, from making serious therapies and treatments fun, to delivering informative talks that genuinely help us take responsibility for our own wellbeing but in a way that is not preaching to us. Healthy food and delicious juices are available throughout the day and there is even a market place where you can pick up organic souvenirs or healing herbs, whatever you need to start looking after yourself properly. Of course, it helps that we are enjoying amazing weather in October and in the surroundings of a stunning establishment but Healing Ibiza is much more than a fun day out. It’s a chance to really make a difference in your own life and have fun while doing it!
