Ibiza is a magical island and the perfect place to have a wedding. Having experienced two of my friends getting married this summer, in two completely different but equally amazing locations, the island offers a unique element that makes that special day even more special. Ibiza is blessed with a multitude of amazing locations that will take your breath away, whether you want to get married on a cliff top looking out to sea, a stunning beach or in the heart of the amazing countryside, there are numerous unforgettable experiences to be had.
Aura is one of our favourite spots on the island, it’s a stunning garden restaurant and lounge in the centre of the island that once you are in it, you never want to leave. The garden restaurant is like something out of a fairytale, from the wooden cocktail bar at one end, the vegetable garden at the back, providing the fresh produce for the menu or the stunning tables arranged throughout it, it is one of the island’s must visit spots. With a cool lounge and outside bar area it has everything you could need from your night out, all I the one place. It’s no surprise that it is one of the most popular wedding spots on the island. Essentialibiza caught up with Jade to get an idea of what a wedding in Aura looks like…

What do you offer couples looking to get married in Ibiza?
Aura Ibiza offers a unique experience. Couples can choose to have individual elements of their wedding with us or we can host their big day from start to finish. We can cater for intimate gatherings of cocktails and canapés through to large wedding extravaganzas of anything up to 200 guests, a wedding at Aura can be as individual or opulent in that particular spirited, Ibizan way as you like. We are able to host any element of the wedding from the pre party, the ceremony, the dinner, to the late night entertainment – all in the same stunning location. Many couples are attracted to Aura as their guests can dine in our magical garden restaurant before, effortlessly stepping inside to our lounge bar where they can party late into the night without the need to leave to another destination.
What are the biggest logistical problems putting together someone’s big day?
We are very flexible on our approach and this helps prevent any problems.
Where does the ceremony take place?
Guests arrive through the orange blossom then find themselves in another world, full of mature grapevines, tall palm trees, fragrant citrus orchards and Mediterranean vegetation. Here, the ceremony takes place under a lush grapevine arch way.

Describe a typical wedding in Ibiza?
The beauty of Ibiza is that nothing is typical… however ‘all white’ weddings are very popular on the island.
What’s the strangest request you’ve had from a bride & groom?
No request seems strange in Ibiza. White horses, fire jugglers, trapeze artists, you name it we can arrange it. We have a ‘no request is too big or too small’ philosophy so whether guests choose to keep things sophisticated and relaxed or want something a bit more lively, we can meet their demands.

Wedding priorities change depending on location, is the dress still the most important thing or have things like the food caught up?
The dress will always be the most important thing for the bride but impressing the guests is essential and therefore the wine, the cocktails and the food are really important. Couples come to us as they know that our menus have been carefully chosen to reflect the very best of what the island has to offer. Freshly caught fish, locally sourced, seasonal and even using ingredients plucked straight from our own fragrant kitchen garden. Great food is the best way to impress friends and family alike.

How aware of you of the pressure of delivering one of the most important days in a couples life?
Very! We want every element to be perfect and our flexible approach means that we can tailor make the day to ensure that the bride and groom have a perfect wedding.
What is you lead in time for a wedding?
We are very flexible and can put together an impromptu wedding at very short notice or for the more organised bride and groom we are already taking 2014 bookings.
