After bringing you the news that Carl Cox will be returning to Space this summer with 12 Nights Of The Revolution ‘The Party Unites’, we can exclusively reveal the first of three line up announcements from Carl Cox and Safehouse Management. ‘The Party Unites’ theme sees Carl join forces with some of the biggest talents on the electronic dance scene at the moment, making sure that Tuesday night in Space remains one of the hottest tickets on the island. Carl Cox and Safehouse Management have shown an acute insight into musical trends and the protagonists behind them in recent years when planning and booking talent to appear alongside the talented spinner and this year is no different.
July 9 sees the opening party of 12 Nights Of The Revolution ‘The Party Unites’ and is as big a statement of intent that you are likely to see this summer. Joining Carl Cox that night will be Dubfire, Tania Vulcano, Copy Paste Soul, DJ Sneak and Nic Fanciulli! Any one of these talented artists could headline most parties, it’s the Harlem Globetrotters of electronic dance music and it promises to get the season off to a flyer. Dubfire is always a popular visitor to the island; his driving, hypnotic style mesmerizes dancefloors the world over. Tania Vulcano has become one of the most popular DJs on the island, her ability to build a groove and engage a dancefloor is the stuff of legend. DJ Sneak had an outstanding season last summer, playing at most of the hottest parties, his jackin house groove takes no prisoners and doesn’t give a floor any option but to dance. Copy Paste Soul is a talented member of the Safehouse Management stable making a big name for himself with his slightly left of centre, squelchy, deep house flavor and finally Nic Fanciulli, consistently one of the best performers on the international circuit and no stranger to the Tuesday night Carl Cox crowd. Can anyone say roadblock?
After an opening party that could read as a highlight reel of the season let alone one night, the party continues and July 16 sees another set of extraordinary talents join Carl Cox’s Revolution. Swedish techno genius Adam Beyer brings his vast array of talent, not to mention massive music collection to the Tuesday night, showcasing nuggets from any one of his four successful labels. German duo Pan Pot carry the techno torch further as Tassilo and Thomas bring passion and musical vision to the party. The next guest needs no introduction, Laurent Garnier is the very definition of the word genius, his ability to take the dancfloor on a musical journey is second to none and the final piece of the jigsaw is the epitome of cool, Giles Peterson. Record collector extraordinaire, champion of acid jazz and all round music lover, Peterson brings something a little different to the party. Again, get your tickets early for this one; these are not parties you want to be on the outside looking in on!
It’s week three already, time does fly when you’re enjoying yourself? July 23 has seen the amazing line up’s from the first two weeks and accepted the challenge, matching both of them with yet more heavyweight talent. Cassy is another one of Ibiza’s groove builders, she takes a dancefloor and gently builds it, hypnotizing it with wicked grooves and an ability to blend records together that comes from raw, natural talent. Marco Carola is another of the stars from last summer, filling clubs and rocking dancefloors throughout the season. The Italian has a driving style that engages the dancefloor with monster sets that cross genres and generally deliver a thrill ride for anyone lucky enough to be in hearing distance of any of the speakers. Carl Cox has a real cosmopolitan feel to his first four line up’s and next up is Canada’s Carlo Lio, a talented and passionate spinner that attacks a dancefloor with raw energy and emotion that makes it virtually impossible to stand still while he is in control. Nicole Moudaber brings an element of grace and poise to the proceedings but don’t let that fool you, this talented lady can mix it with the best of them. Just Be is the final protagonist of week three as Bushwacka! continues to grab headlines with his latest solo project. Being part of a hugely successful double act can sometimes be restrictive when it comes to doing your own thing but such is the talent of Matthew Benjamin, he has captured headlines wherever he has played.
And so we come to week four, as if there hasn’t been enough talent on show so far for you to want to book weekly tickets to this amazing party, the fourth week signifies Coxy’s birthday and everyone remembers just how special that one can be. July 30 is a big celebration and what do you do when you want top celebrate? You invite all your friends round. Heidi, Jon Rundell, Brodinski & Gestafelstein, Yousef and Umek are the ones charged with helping the big man celebrate another year passing. It’s a line up of big room stars that know how to rock the dancefloor, perfect for the birthday party, don’t be surprised to see Carl spending more time on the dancefloor at this one than behind the DJ booth. 2013 looks set to be another amazing year for the Tuesday night party that continues to grab headlines on and off the island. With many of the early bird tickets having already sold out, Lynn Cosgrave of Safehouse Management confirmed that they will be maintaining the lower 25 euro rate per ticket for a further three weeks, “We believe the clubber comes first, and now is the chance for everybody to get involved and get their ticket”.
As always Carl Cox Revolution party strives to offer an interactive experience to its army of loyal revolutionaries and this summer is no different, the DJ contest that was so popular last year and which gave four DJs a spot at the party, returns, offering the chance of a lifetime for another four up and coming spinners. There will also be an opportunity for the artistic amongst you to try your hand at designing some of the official merchandise so get your thinking caps on now and look out for further announcements on Essentialibiza first. Carl Cox is understandable excited about the forthcoming season, saying; “It’s 12 years and we’re back with a bang. We always try to keep things fresh, making the night better with each year that passes. I’m a big believer of moving forward so whilst keeping everything that worked last year we’re moving into a new phase too with some wicked guests, some familiar faces, and as always a few surprises… This year, the party truly unites!…Bring it on.” We will also bring you the news first and fastest as more DJs and room hosts are added to the weekly line up.
