As Ibiza slowly but surely goes into hibernation for the winter, the latest to pull the shutters down is Café Mambo. Friday October 12 sees the famous beach bar host it’s final party of the season with residents Jason Bye and Alex Wolfenden providing the entertainment. There is also talk of an extra special sunset guest but that is under wraps for the moment.
Café Mambo has delivered momentous sunsets throughout this summer as well as a few amazing parties, who could forget the Mambo In The Mix charity event that saw international DJs become barstaff for the night and clubbers take over the DJ booth. Owner Javier paid to play the sunset tune, the sight of Roger Sanchez mixing cocktails for a couple of more established clubbers will live long in the memory, as will DJ Oliver in a chefs outfit, making hot dogs with Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones, not to mention the Nervo sisters in nurses outfits! Mambo rose over €28,000 for Ibiza & Formentera Red Cross showing that it is an active part of the tapestry of the island.
The world’s most famous pre-club bar regularly brings superstar DJs to the sunset strip where they play for free promote their party and give their fans a unique, up-close-and-personal experience that they can’t get anywhere else in the world! This summer has seen the likes of Fatboy Slim, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, Tiesto, Pete Tong and many more superstars grace the Mambo decks. Backing them up along the way has been the talented mambo residents, who perhaps don’t get the full credit they deserve; Jason Bye, Andy Baxter, Alex Wolfenden and Matthew Charles have contributed to holiday memories throughout the summer.
Friday October 12 sees the last chance to savour the sunset and listen to some great tunes, that is, until 2013 when it does the whole thing again!
