What is it about Ibiza that makes it so special?

The vibe the island has, it has extremes, tranquil and totally nuts.

Does Ibiza still play a role in breaking a new tune?

I think the days of breaking a new tune are over to be honest, but if a tune gets played by a lot of Ibiza DJ's it's gonna be a hit.

How important is Ibiza to the building of a global club brand?

Very, I think if you can make it big in Ibiza you are pretty much set, if you play your cards right.

Describe your first Ibiza experience?

It was in 1992, one of the best times of my life, I had a Spanish friend who took me around and showed me the island so from the start I knew all the hidden secrets. I thought it was magical, I loved the fact everyone seemed to be a real character, lots of gays, trannies, freaks and cool people, I loved the 24 hour party thing, and that you could bowl up to Space any time, any day and something amazing would be happening. I had only been DJing fpr one year but I got to DJ at Space inside and on the terrace when the decks were behind the bar, it was hilarious and so much fun, and I also played at Pacha.

Away from the club how do you relax on the island?

I go to Formentera on a mates boat, go to the beach and eat a lot!

Which is your favourite beach?

Es Cavellet, for the sand, the sea, the energy and the location.

What are you listening too chilling on the beach?

I actually listen to audio books on my i-phone, last summer I also had Massive Attack's album on non-stop.

You've got a night off, where do you head for food?

La Bodega, amazing tapas in Ibiza Town.

Name three essential items needed to survive your Ibiza trip?

Sun screen, sunglasses, a sense of adventure.

What's the strangest thing you've seen/experienced on the island?

An orgy on the beach, one woman and about 10 men - eewwww!
